Got back last night after a lovely weekend. The sun shone, it hailed, the Kirkstone Pass near Patterdale was closed due to snow, so the weather was mixed to say the least. The hotel was lovely, the staff were all so friendly and helpful, the food was good, and sitting in front of the log fire after a days rambling was bliss as was the G&T.  Got lots of pictures, looking forward to getting them developed and downloading from my own camera, these are all from Alans

I started this blog, intending it to be a journal of the beginning of a journey of a long held precious dream, thats’ meaning has yet to unfold.  I guess part of any journey includes what we bring with us, that which led us to the landing stage if you like… what led us to the place we find ourselves in today.  This song is a tribute to all those people who walked beside me to the place I find myself in today, some departed, remembered with a warm smile, others beside me today.  There is something so quiet and unassuming in true friendship, something that steps in without asking, something that feels the pulse of things without asking. Friendship seems to know just whats needed at the time, I find it in the most unexpected places, the twenty one year old colleuge, who seems to know when I need a little encouragement, a boost, a little note left on my desk at work that finds that spot that can break through the negativity, the unwelcome aspect of life that need to be dealt with.

The trip to London has been cancelled, Alan and I have decided to have a break in the Lake District instead, lots of walking, wide open spaces, fresh air away from it all, supported by copious amounts of vino… Camera will be packed, and life will be lived..10th of Febuary here we come.
