Wake up maggie
Today was a good day, my youngest son came home from exercises on the Black Mountains looking fit and healthy.
Its my other sons birthday so it was good to celebrate with him before he goes out with the lads.. It was actually a very productive day for me, my day off and got lots of house work done, and intend to spend the evening savouring the delights of beef in spring onion with ginger and a little fried rice, then watch a dvd with my beloved. This will be the difficult bit as I find it so difficult to sit in front of the t.v these days and have been like this for many years…Having said that there was a time when that was where I would most likely be found, zoned out living life through the soaps. Its hard to imagine I am that same person but there we are???
My son was on youtube looking at some of the Royal Marine footage this morning and explaining some of the stories behind them, I dont agree with this war, and when it comes to seeing some of the rescue missions and the risks these young men take to save their colleuges, its heart rending…Yet Im aware this is just a small part of a big story, there are many innocent people suffering. Yet in a way the footage was also reassuring that should the worst happen these men will go to extremes of courage to rescue their comrades. Its a complex issue.
On a brighter note my elder son insisted both I and his sister sing a song for his birthday on the karaoke site that X factor have set up, apparently this goes to Simon Cowells crew just in case their is a budding star out there, going unnoticed, just waiting to be discovered. Good news its not me!!!! Its amazing hearing yourself sing on this site and good fun if nothing else, I will try and post the link once I work out how to do this. Maybe I would have sung a little better had I had my make up on and looked the part of a star waiting in the wings, but I think years of smoking have definitely given me the gravely Rod Stewart voice, but not his legs or bum, maybe thats not such a bad thing though.
Wake up maggie (my middle name) I think Ive got something to say to you……YOU CANT SING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
