Mothers pride

Gosh Im so proud of this girl, Simona is my daughter who is studying her post grad down in London. She was stopped in some store and offered the chance of modelling for some teeny magazines, she was 26 on the 29th of March so I dont know if she was flattered or what???lol.

These are a couple of pictures taken at a shoot, I dont know if she will get work or if she wants it, but her Mum is proud of her.  Simona is my daughter who suffers from crippling arthritis, however she has never let it hold her back…You go girl!!

Now where are my hiking boots, those hills, the sun and smiles x

Dancing queen

I am the dancing queen, young and sweet only seventeen…………..Well OK not quite……..but that how I feel honestly, last year I felt sixteen so  Ive grown a little older  blah !!!!  :))

Ive spent the best part of tonight erasing music downloads from previous posts…………why ??????????? well I hope this has only been happening on my own blog, but first they wouldnt appear, then they appear but wont play and tonight they decide tonights the night to hold a great big party and all jam together……not to pleasing a sound I must say, had to quickly shut them down, or up one by one, lol not a simple task, but then when I open up the blog again…WELL THERE THEY ALL ARE, STILL PARTYING AWAY………..will try again, and again……………and again if need be, I wont be beaten, deafened maybe, but beaten, NEVER!!!!

Prior to this I went online to check out and see if the Ceroc classes are still being run in Aberdeen, and yes they are though the venue has changed, so Wednesdays or Thursdays, perhaps both, is DANCE NIGHT!!!!!! I have to say Im really looking forward to getting back into the swing of it and having some fun.

You can dance, you can jive, baby, having the time of your life

oooooooooh ooooooooooooh digging the dancing scene

Now, hopefully! this time!!!! the music will play as it should.

JOURNEYS : Its what we bring with us that matters

Following on from yesterday, today is another day, so I thought I would focus on the positive as opposed to the negative revelations of yesterday.  I thought it would be good to give some space and time to this man who has been a rock, a ray of sunshine and sometimes, not often but sometimes a huge pain in the butt!!! Lol..Alan would be the first to smile at this, one of the many reasons why I love him

This morning has been spent looking for hotels, and flights to that big city called London, we havent been able to make it away for a break this year, so Alan suggested we go away for a few days, visit my daughters and take in a few sights…Really looking forward to this, although I could never live in a big city like London ( My country girl heart needs lots of green and wide open spaces) I do so love to visit.. So Febuary 10th we take off, little  trips matter just as much as the big one I plan to take.

In the 5 years since we met and Alan has shown me places that I never knew existed, that includes lovely little pockets and treasures that are here in my own home city Aberdeen.  Having been raised in the country and then moving to England shortly after marrying, there was so much of this city I hadnt seen…..I was amazed and when the weather improves I promise to take my camera on tour and capture some images for my blog, so I can share this  little corner of the world with others.

During my twenty years in England I live on the edge of the Lake district in a little town called Barrow-in-Furness, famous for its shipyard, where trident submarines were built, also nearby Sellafield /Windscale the nuclear station, people depended on these places for work, yet there was the controversy and opposition surrounding them.

The surrounding area was spectacular with the beautiful, lakes so close at hand, Windermere, Coniston,Ullswater too many to mention, and the beautiful hills…Autumn in this area was my favourite time of year…….the colours were so rich, the leaves when fallen created this beautiful carpet of golds, russet reds and browns……simply stunning, now I wish I had thought to take my camera, but alas.  Coming home made me realise just how much this tiny island we call Britain has to offer in terms of variety of landscape and colour.

The picture of Alan was taken in Italy a couple of years ago, taking in Sorrento, Naples, Capri and Rome.  We did this travelling by coach…it ended just like one of those t.v. documentaries……….the journey from hell……but thats another story for another day another time…….

Friends x

 Arrivederci per ora

Christmas wishes come true

For Ruth and thank you for your christmas wish as I said mine came true……To enlighten

Just prior to putting up the tree this year I was in the loft looking through old boxes that have finally made their way back to me after many years……….special little things that friends had gifted me over the years that mean little to any one  but me…these things are unique part of my story……….Among the boxes were all the family photos I had taken of the children over the years…….and some with their Dad, I suddenly struck me there were none…absolutely non of me taken with my own children, at no point in the years I was raising them did my husband ever think or say” here let me take a picture of you with the children”, I really struck me that one of the most central parts of their lives and mine, had been overlooked, perhaps just by thoughtlessness, but forgotten non the less… I was surprised by my own sense of missing, sense of sadness that no images exist of me and my young ones together…..

Well!!!!! my christmas wish came true and here I proudly present to you my dear friends the very first picture ever taken of me and my seven children together……………Its never too late after all.. and this was a very special moment and image for me…………….Even a bonus my two grandchildren are with me too, and taking the picture, a very special man who realises the importance of the little things……………..

Love and light to you all this very special day xx
