OH DEAR

Well its been almost, but not quite a week since Pats arrival home, safe and sound, I could relax…PHEW!!! thought I.

Having said that he has just this evening arrived back from a cousins wedding in Ireland… Well to be factual it was a wedding reception without the wedding as the bride called off 3 days prior to the actual day of the union..I have to add I admire her for making a very brave decision, but also acknowledge it will have caused a great deal of heartache and problems for both families.

Anyway the reception went ahead for  the grooms family which is enormous, Pats father is one of 15 children and all the accompanying children can make for quite a gathering.

A good time was had by all despite the cancellation, and Patrick enjoyed his weekend away.  Today it was he who was making his way down the stairs, me the one coming through the door having just finished work.  ‘Was that a limp’ thought I….or has the dog done a doo doo on the carpet, not that she does, but one never knows….

Sure enough it was a limp, he told me he had hurt his leg fooling around, the I banged into a door story ( good as any ) then procedes to show me his leg, ( its the first time Ive seen his legs in years I think).  To my shock and horror his left knee is swollen to the size of a balloon, he can neither straighten nor bend it. so tommorrow I take the wounded soldier up to casualty..

Thats life………..LOL

Wow, what a brave lady…can you imagine the pressure she must have been under knowing the heartbreak she was going to cause. Of course my heart goes out to her (ex?) fiance and all the family and friends too but better she made the decision now…whatever the circunstances that may have led her there.
As for your own brave soldier…make sure he doesn’t try and talk you out of taking him to casualty. I’ve been nagging (yes I can do it under extreme circumstances) Leanne for 2 weeks about the backache she’s got..she’s still been hobbling to work and carrying around boxes…finally she went to the docs today and she’s slipped a disc! and the doc said she should have seen him 2 weeks ago.
Anyway hope Pat gets “sorted”…a gentle {{hug}} from Suffolk. Clever choice of song…LOL

Wow! It wasn’t the Dusty Springfield/Diana Ross way, was it? Good luck to her. Wrong is wrong.
As for Pat’s knee, what really happened? Do you know?
I’ve fallen behind on your posts, reluctantly and tonight I’m actually too tired, with my eyes stinging from being out in 90ยบ sun all afternoon, doing an absorbing photo project around that modern brisge I always want to escape across. Like moses, however, I was tootired to do anything but stare south beyond it.
I’ll be back ASAP, but I’m noticeably tiring these days much easier than before. I actually think I’m better off when I’ve loads of work!
    I will return, no worries!
    All my love,

    ruth,

Im sorry to hear that Leanne is suffering a slipped disc. I believe that can be so painful, but glad she is now aware of it.. I nag too, especially when it comes to backs and knees, they are so important, their health is something we take too forgranted I feel..often until its too late..

Pats leg is nothing more than very badly bruised and swollen, thankfully, he will continue to limp around for a few more days, but nothing more serious

No Stewart, she did it the Frank Sinatra way…she did it her way..felt her wishes and needs were being totally discounted, making her realise… not the recipe for partnership, mutual support nor life long commitment…at this point. A very honest and brave decision not made lightly Im sure..

Pat did give the true picture for his knee injury, general theme, alcohol induced show of strength, egged on by aging uncles and fathers bets..In his own words STUPID..so my tongue rests firmly in the pit of my mouth..after all they are all adults ( allegedely.. lol )

I think having his leave hampered by pain and lack of mobility will mean more than my tuppenceworth..

Could it be Stewart that loads of work distracts from the fact that you are more tired than you realise…Only when you rest do you get a chance to acknowledge just how tired..Maybe time to cross that bridge, pull into life’s layby and rest your body, nourish the soul..
